Available as early as May 15 (with June 1 or June 15 also suitable start dates...possibly later in the summer depending upon circumstances), I am seeking a responsible trustworthy person or couple to reside in my furnished, upscale condo.
Ideally, I'd like to find someone that is interested in a 15 month lease through August 2015, but could be amenable to either a 12-month lease or simply a summertime 3-month lease depending upon circumstances.
Additionally, my strong preference is to rent to people who are financially responsible and able to meet their rental commitments, people who are respectful of my property and will not smoke, party, or otherwise inflict damage onto my furnishings.
As for myself, I am a college professor, business consultant, and Forbes.com writer who is leaving St Louis for a year on sabbatical from my university here in St Louis.

As for the location, you could not ask for anything more centrally positioned. Ideal for anyone affiliated with Wash U or SLU (I'm talking to you, medical, MBA, or law students), Barnes Jewish Hospital, or simply anyone that wants to be centrally located. My unit is a mere 3 miles from downtown, 1 mile from Forest Park, 3 miles from upscale Clayton, 3 miles from historic Soulard district where our Mardi Gras celebration takes place. Lastly, you are a mere 15 minute walk to Central West End's Euclid Ave which features a myriad of restaurants, shops, etc...
The unit is furnished, spacious, and a corner unit upstairs with beautifully large windows facing the famous Basilica Church which is 0.5 miles Northeast of my unit. You have 2 covered parking spaces, washer/dryer inside the master bedroom's walk-in closet, and relatively new furnishings (none older than 2009). There is a pool which is open throughout the summer. Though there is no fitness facility, Saint Louis University's amazing fitness center is less than 1 mile away...and I can help you get a favorable rate at the gym with my personal contacts there.
This unit is my home...I'm leaving for an academic sabbatical...returning Aug 2015. As this is my home, I will be highly selective to ensure that whomever is selected will treat my space and belongings with respect.
My ideal tenant is someone that is honest, trustworthy, does not use drugs, does not cause problems, and is a good neighbor to my neighbors. For the application process, expect to be asked for 3 references, employment verification and contact, 2 forms of proof regarding financial wherewithal (recent bank statement, paystub). If you are under the age of 25 and/or under a certain income level, I will request that your parents co-sign the lease.
Monthly rent is 1650, deposit is 1500 (to be returned at the end of the lease), and rent does not include utilities.

There is some flexibility on the potential start date and lease length. The ideal scenario would be to start the lease May 15 or June 1, and have it run through Aug 1 or Aug 15 of 2015. But other scenarios are possible subject to discussion with owner.
Also, renters should be prepared to provide 3 references (prior landlord, current employer, one character reference). If you are under the age of 25, your parents or employer will have to co-sign the lease. Furthermore, you will be asked to provide documented evidence of your financial wherewithal.
