I am interested in doing a Maxim (possibly Playboy) style photo shoot before the end of the year. This will be a studio shoot and the photos will be used in building my portfolio. trying to film my wedding as cheaply as possible so I'm looking for some people with 1080i (1920x1080 HD) camcorders to record the event.

Camcorders like this are $300 now: search ebay completed auctions for JVC GZ-HD5 or Sony HDR-SR1. Rather than buy several and attempt to resell them at cost I figured I'd see if anyone has one collecting dust and wants to make a quick $50 for 1 hour of their time a week before Black Friday.

Basically we'll setup the camcorders on tripods, press "record", then copy the videos to laptops (one for each HD camcorder) and you'll be on your way. Ceremony is 45 minutes, figure with setup and transfer we're looking at right around an hour. I don't need professional videographers because I'd rather just take multiple angles from camcorders on tripods and edit everything together myself.

I already have one guy doing it, I need about two more.

This isn't your typical "comic writer looking for comic artist" advertisement. You are smart enough to know that fly-by-night, exploitation arrangements like those tend to disintegrate quicker than it takes to reply to the Craigslist ad. Here's something different:

I used to be a filmmaker and now I'm an attorney in training. My partner is a (published) writer and (so-far unpublished) comic writer. After doing a few months of research, I've developed a project that's not a typical graphic novel or TPB that will be designed to raise his profile with comic professionals. This isn't a webcomic; this isn't an illustrated novel.

We considered approaching collaborators after script was completely written, but we decided that for a project like the one we're considering, it would be best to have equal creative input amongst all of the collaborators.

Unlike others, we don't promise a get-rich-quick scheme. In fact, according to our estimates my partner and I will lose around 80% of the money we put into the project (marketing is expensive). As an artist, what you get out of our arrangement is working on an unique, well-conceived project, and you get to reap the benefits of all of the promotional money we'll be putting into the project upon completion.

You'll also get a connection with a comic creator-team that is (A) sensible enough to write a business plan; (B) savvy enough to have spent months studying the market before deciding to release a book; and most of all, (C) honest enough to be totally transparent with all of our collaborators.

The ads are going to be mostly "image" ads...no "cut this coupon" ads will be allowed, so it should be a pretty fast workflow.

This is a volunteer gig for a 501(c)(3) charity in exchange for your adverstising to a targeted upscale market, especially the high-end children�s market. This is a great opportunity for any photographer to advertise their name and business to a captive audience of 10,000+ St. Louis area residents along with building goodwill through their brand with charity involvement.

Details:

- photographer will take one photograph of each participating child at event with holiday characters; 150+ pictures were taken at this event last year
- photographs will be printed immediately, on-site (by assistants) for children to take home
- photographs are presented in holiday folders ready for your marketing materails to be enclosed
