Direct Support Professional
We are currently seeking dependable and dedicated Direct Care Staff to work with individuals diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD, formerly Developmental Disabilities) in St. Louis and the surrounding areas part-time and full time (after an introductory period), mainly during the evenings and weekends. We place our qualified staff in either Natural home (clients living with their parent or guardian) or Individualized Supported Living homes (homes which can encompass up to 3 clients living in the home full time with around-the-clock staff).
Behavior Intervention Services offers competitive wages, over 20 hours of professional training and a consistent schedule that will be posted at least one month in advance.
Our Direct Care Staff members work under the guidance of Board Certified Behavior Analysts to implement Behavior Intervention strategies while working with their clients in their homes or during community-based activities and events.
Ideal applicants would have a
- steady work history
- A clear background check through the Family Care Safety Registry, OIG, and EDL
- strong interpersonal skills and great communication
- a 'can do' attitude and interest in a challenging and rewarding position
- proficiency in the written word and basic computer skills
- a working cell phone and internet access/ability to check emails
- reliable vehicle with the ability to transport clients as necessary
