Change your world, change your life! Spend a year assisting disaster affected communities, fighting wildfires, and conserving natural resources with a team of young people committed to making a difference. In our country the frequency of natural disasters has doubled in the last decade, and the threat of man-made disasters has increased; yet most citizens are still unprepared when disaster strikes. The AmeriCorps St. Louis Emergency Response Team (ERT) is making real advances in both disaster preparedness and response. The ERT is a multi-functional rapid deployment group that has been called out nationally to floods, NASA search and rescue, ice storms, terrorist attacks, tornadoes, wildfires, and, most recently, hurricanes. When not involved in disaster response or preparedness activities, the ERT assists the Missouri Departments of Conservation and Natural Resources, the U.S. Forest Service, and National Park Service with trail maintenance, habitat restoration, and other natural resource projects. All ERT Corps Members will receive an intensive orientation including: physical conditioning, team building and leadership skills, introduction to disaster services, operations in hazardous environments, dealing with people in crisis, risk management approaches, Incident Command System, emergency communications, and basic emergency medical care. Now in its sixteenth year, AmeriCorps St. Louis has a proven history of providing highly successful programs, partnerships, and trainings, making it a model to other programs around the state and country. We operate in conjunction with the AmeriCorps St. Louis Education Corps and Career Corps and together have 100 Members who come from all over the country to create our tightly knit community. Join us this January and change your world and even your life.

College degree or relevant life experience is required. Recent college grads, retirees, stay-at-home moms looking to return to the workforce and those looking for second careers or experience in nonprofits are welcome! Persons of color and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
ASF is re-designing this web page to simplify it (we like stark simple dynamics without clutter) and will send you a current mock up with the basic new idea, that still canbe simplified and improved.

The theme for the heading is royal blue with gold letters. The MENU will be simplified with less links. We will send you the link page info..via e mail attachment, as the whole site must be prepared by you and be camera ready to sub in for the old one. You will use the same to heading for link pages and just cut and paste in new edits.

Also can you improve HTML code/optimization?

This work is for auto safety and in the past has been pro bono.
