Creative Writing/Paid Internship (St. Louis Colleges)

We are currently looking to build an extensive internship program across the United States, bringing on board talented college students from various schools.

The most important assets we are looking for are reliability and the ability to work independently. Our offices are located in Boston, and depending on where you are from, many of you will not be able to meet with anyone here in person, so it is important that you can produce good work and stay motivated. You do not need to have any previous work experience to apply for this internship, however, you should have a strong background in creative writing, photography, or film, as we are looking for individuals with talent in any of these areas.

We need our interns to assist in building an information database for the College Sumo website. Every college or university has hundreds of different venues that are connected to them for a variety of functions and we want to know about all of them. Your task, as a hired intern, would be to write short, fun, creative reviews about places you have enjoyed going to share with everyone at your school. Your reviews can be of a crazy bar, a little-known restaurant, grocery store, laundromat, favorite take-out place, supply store, vegan hot spot, bowling alley, coffee shop, etc., which you have found that your fellow students need to know about. Each review that you write should be accompanied by great photos of the venue to support your article. If you would like to take it a step further, make a video review of the venue. Do whatever you think it takes to help other students understand what the location is really like via the web.

This is a great position for those of you who love to write, socialize, take photos but don’t have experience to put on your resume yet. This opportunity can also be used to earn college credits towards a degree. (Check with your school to have this internship approved) Additionally, this will provide real-world work experience and the opportunity to have your writing showcased on a national website.

We ask our interns to work approximately 4 hours per week on this project, submitting 2 reviews per week at the minimum. A $100 bonus will be awarded once you submit 50 reviews that are put on our site. We are also looking for students who, down the road, could become representatives for their college region. Interns who display reliability, conscientiousness and excellent work ethic will have the opportunity to be hired for a paid position within the company. All interns will receive letters of recommendation for their efforts and hard work that they have put in.
We are currently looking for student interns at these specific schools:

Creative Writing / Paid Internship (St.

Students who complete over 50 reviews at an excellent level will receive a $100 bonus.

University of Missouri: St. Louis
St. Louis University
St. Louis Community College
St. Charles Community College
Washington University in St. Louis
