The Tango and the Gaucho are integral parts of the culture of Argentina.
The dance and its music are fast, intricate, vibrant, complex, and enticing. Toe-tapping, too ! Need I say more ?
We visited Buenos Aires multiple times but this item was bought there in 2003 near the Plaza Dorrego, the heart of the San Telmo market district, where many dining and entertainment facilities feature tango. Visitors love to visit and sit for hours watching and listening to this fabulous art form.
As in many cultural districts around the world, artists peddle their wares. This painting caught my eye there and it’s hung in our home for 20+ years but now it’s time for it to move on.
In excellent condition.
Frame is 22 ½” wide and 18” tall.
A double mat surrounds the painting which itself is 11 ½ “ wide and 9 ¼” tall.
