The September Retro Ride was a good one, with several new rides and riders. Some of the bikes are pictured in the event graphics here. Names like Gianni Motta, Ciocc, Fiorelli -- even a throwback celeste Bianchi. Cool stuff. Why not bring your steel steed to the October Ride? It doesn't have to be a showpiece, just something you enjoy. See details below.

Attention bike geeks: Bring out your fancy (or not so fancy) vintage/retro steel bike from the '70s or '80s for socializing and a short ride on Grant's Trail with other retro gearheads. This free event really is "about the bike." Think exposed brake cables and toe clips, although bikes of all ages and styles are welcome.
What: Retro Ride
When: Saturday, October 18 at 11 a.m.
Where: Applebee's, 9031 Watson Rd. 63126, adjacent to Grant's Trail
Go: No notice needed, just show up
No go: Too hot/cold for you? Meet inside Applebee's for food and bike talk.
Please park away from the restaurant entrance, unload your bike and introduce yourself. If weather negates riding, head into Applebee's and look for the bike types. Eat up inside or mount up outside for an easy out-and-back cruise down the trail. Most will likely ride 16-20 miles, but go as far as you like. Meet up back at the restaurant for food and drinks.
We do this ride on a regular basis (usually the third Saturday of each month) to bring local retro bike fans together to share riding and resources. Check listings on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for future events.
