All over the world children play with dolls. Yes, everyone has Barbie these days but the more interesting dolls reflect the culture they live in.
On a trip to Mongolia in 2007 we purchased the “culturally-correct” four piece outfit. It consists of a basic shirt layer, a decorated tunic-y/skirt/jacket garment over it, a pair of boots, and a flashy cape over it all.
I think the doll outfit would fit on an American Girl doll or other similarly-sized doll body. Beautiful, different, and very supportive of artisans in often-impoverished locales.
