This plate represents the mourning for our 20th president of the U.S. who was shot on Jul. 2, 1881, less than four months after his inauguration. He succumbed to these wounds Sept. 19, 1881.
Succeeded by Chester Arthur.
Excellent condition. 11 1/4" diameter. Starred edition.
