Anheuser-Busch Collectors Club 1998 Lidded Stein “Old World Heritage”
The stein has 3 full-color illustrations that depict key 19th century workers who contributed to the Anheuser-Busch brewing process
The first rendering portrays the “Saazer Hop Girls” picking the precious Bohemian Saaz hops in the late 1800’s. Anheuser-Busch was the only brewer to import these hops – considered the world’s finest and most expensive variety – for brewing Budweiser.
The two remaining illustrations on the stein are based on a series of photos commissioned by Adolphus Busch and given as gifts to his workers. Shown in the center of the stein are members of a cellar crew, who watched over the beer during the 3-month lagering process. The final rendering depicts carpenters and tinners, who were charged with keeping the brewery in good working order.
Surrounding the 3 illustrations is an intricate scrollwork pattern masterfully crafted in ceramic relief. This stunning work of art mirrors the careful attention to detail and commitment to quality that continues to make Anheuser-Busch beers the finest in the world.
The stein is numbered #20209 – CB7 and is approximately 9” T x 4 3/4” W x 6 3/4” D
Stein has never been displayed, is in perfect condition inside and out, in original box and packaging in excellent condition (only removed to be photographed) with Certificate of Authenticity pamphlet
