Another killer piece from the Redneck Stereo Salon. For your consideration a Sony TA-N77ES Power Amplifier in Excellent condition with upgrades that include, real wood side panels (not the junk azz particle board and vinyl that came on the amp new) and superior quality hi-end 5 way binding posts.
Cosmetic condition: Excellent there are a few small scratches on the wood side panels that are only visible upon very close inspection. Check pictures for more details.
Functional condition: This amplifier was checked and tested (by certified professionals not a wannabe) when the 5 way binding post were installed In 2023. After servicing this amp was given a clean bill of heath and performed flawlessly. The only problems these amps EVER had was the meter lights going out which luckily is cheap and easy to fix, not at all like some amplifiers that have big meters and lots of lights on the front.
The Sony TA-N77ES was claimed by a notable high end Audio reviewer to be "Japan's greatest power amp of all time" We don't know about that (remember sound is a personal choice there is no clear cut best and worst for everyone) but we can tell you this for the money this amp performs as good or better than some of the new equipment we listen to that is considerably more expensive than the TA-N77ES. This amp is the equivalent of a 400 pound WWE wrestler it will grab your speakers and make them do things they were never able to before. It's BIG - it's Bad - It's like a Brahma Bull on Steroids!!!!

Power Input & Consumption
It draws zero power when turned off because it has a real power switch. It's not like modern equipment that never really turns off and consumes power and remains a fire hazard any time its plugged in. The TA-N77ES is completely disconnected when switched off.
When switched-on, there is a 9.0 second mute during which it draws 30 watts. Even if ON, the meters are dark for those first 9 seconds.
The meter bulbs are rated a total of 7.2W (1.2W x 6 bulbs).
Size
Overall: 7-3/8 x 18-5/8 x 17-3/8 inches HWD.
If you take off the fake wood side panels, what's left is standard 17" wide, but with nothing covering the sides! Unlike other Sony items with fake wood side panels, there is no metal case underneath on the sides.
