Up for your consideration is a HEAVY DUTY Turntable stand. Turntable stands are different than an equipment stand, they are heavier (or they should be) have thicker shelves, have a different shelf configuration that allow you to store LP’s in a vertical position, be at a convenient height to easily load and unload your LP’s on your turntable and also allow you to easily inspect and clean your stylus.
This stand is not some light weight piece of junk from some designer store. This Bad Boy is like the Harley Davison of shelves. Anyone who knows and is serious about LP playback knows without a doubt that a solid shelf is a vital link in the LP playback chain. We must mention this, a 500 pound shelf will not fix your undersized floor joist that bounces up and down like a trampoline when you walk on them. In those cases we suggest you contact a professional carpenter and have the floor joists reinforced before your set up an LP stand.
I know what you are saying all shelves are the same and yours is no different. Well here is how this one is built. The thickness of the shelves is 1 1/2” - it weighs over 63 1/2 pounds - it has 5/8” heavy duty threaded rod holding the shelves in place and each shelf has double heavy duty nuts on the bottom and the top holding them in place on each corner. On the bottom there are four large heavy duty brass cones. (the cones on this stand are NOT the cheap ones that come on most shelves)
There are some stains and scratches on the top shelf but nothing real bad, besides they will not be seen when there is a turntable installed. Check the pictures for details. We must say this to avoid any confusion, in the pictures there is one picture that has a turntable, a phono preamp and records on the self, that picture is just to give you an idea of what the shelf looks like with equipment on it. The price of the shelf DOES NOT include the equipment in the picture.
Here are the specs:
23 3/4” wide
15 3/4” deep
31 3/4” high
5/8 “ connecting rods
Weight 63 1/2 pounds
