Up for your consideration from the world Famous Redneck Stereo Salon is a beautiful looking and incredible sounding Phase Linear 2000 Preamplifier. As always we go to great lengths to make sure all functions of our units work perfectly, if not we sell them to the parts boys which is almost always more profitable for us. You ask why don’t you just sell all your vintage stuff to the parts boys? Well we have a soft spot for some of these old units and every year there are less and less of them available on the market, some just aren’t available at all any more because there are no replacement parts available. All of these vintage units are very expensive to get working correctly and on some the cost to resurrect them to working condition is way more expensive than the selling price.
So here is the deal as far as our vintage units are concerned. If you are looking for a like new vintage unit that is around 50 years old, this is not the unit for you. We do from time to time run into new or NBU (never been used) vintage units if you are interested in one of those units let us now and we will put you on a bidder list so next time one comes up for sale you can bid on it. Just so you get an idea of who you are bidding against, these are big time collectors who do not (or hardly ever) play the units they purchase. The last one of these units we saw that went up for bid 2 years ago, was a NBU unit (new units are still in the original box with the original factory tape in tact and uncut) The price for that unit was $2,500.00 another one sold recently for $2,000.00. If you think that was way to high then it is real simple those units are not for you. Just remember ever year the price for pristine vintage units go up.
With all that said, our unit is in great condition for a unit that is 50 years old. All functions work perfectly and this unit cosmetically looks way better than most units we see. Check the photos for cosmetic details. Again if you want a new unit or one that has been completely rebuilt this is not your unit or price range. There are two units on ebay for $600.00 plus shipping. Dealing locally you have no shipping charges plus you avoid the all to often shipping damage, plus you get to see the unit and hear it so you are assured everything works perfect. We do not do listening sessions after our units pass all our test they are boxed up and ready for shipping. If you do buy something from us we will set it up so you can listen to the unit and if needed give you a short lesson on how everything works on the unit.
