45 watts per channel at 8 ohms but handles 4 ohm and handles another pair of speakers. Unlike most of Realistic’s stuff of that era was made in Japan but this was actually made in the USA by Sylvania and at that time were putting out very good high wattage receivers that rivaled the big boys( Pioneer, Kenwood, Sansui, etc.) I bought a high wattage Sylvania back then and it was impressive!
It has a unique feature that competed with the more expensive receivers at the time that were Quadraphonic. But this one they call it synthesized Quatravox to get the experience of quadraphonic sound using four speakers. Sansui had the market on quadraphonic back then but were very expensive even by today standards.
The tuner part is exceptional with a filter that deadens the in between static between stations and the am reception is almost as good. The dial on the tuner is kind of in the style of a Marantz and with the dark green lights it just looks good and different.
These are getting hard to find in good shape usually not working or for sale needing repair but this one is in good shape and works well.
Did test with iTunes music and a cassette deck but can’t say anything about the phono section being my turntable crapped out on me.
Due to age sold as is no returns or refunds unless not working as described. Won’t come down on this one being hard to find and rarity.
Does have a few scratches on top that I was going to sand and redo the finish but never got around it.
A reasonable offer will be considered!
If interested, leave name and number and I will get in touch with you!
Thanks for looking and hope you decide that it would look good in your collection, music room or wherever you think it would!
