Looking to rehome a goofy, affectionate, three-year-old, neutered, Texas heeler (Australian cattle dog X Australian shepherd).
Understands basic obedience. Does not wander but also does not respect an electric fence. He has been raised with small children and does well with them. He hasn’t left the property often but is social with anyone that has come to visit. Lives on a property with fowl, dogs, cats, pigs, goats, and rabbits. He does well with dogs (large and small) though he has challenged our other male in the past. He has a healthy respect for our cats.
Rehoming due to being unable to trust him around any young animals. While he does fine with our adult goats, pigs, etc. he has killed baby/young goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and geese. Despite all attempts, we have not been able to break him of this. It doesn’t matter if the animals are free-ranged or caged; he has torn through wire cages to grab the animals inside.
