A used barrel-style stationary composter with locking lid offered for cash sale. Measures 32” tall and 24” diameter. Made from thick sturdy sand-colored plastic for longevity. Fill from the top and remove finished compost from a door on the bottom. Large lid sets into the top and twists to lock in place, excluding wildlife from going after your kitchen scraps. Air holes drilled throughout to allow in oxygen to speed decomposition. Drain hole allows excess moisture to escape—can attach tubing to collect the nutrient-rich material or direct it away from the base.
NOTE: the door at the bottom is designed to lift up and out to allow access to finished compost. Unfortunately it has a tendency to pop off under the interior pressure of a full composter. The easiest way to prevent this is with a bungee or rope wrapped around the circumference. However if you’re handy, there are holes you could use for a more clever fix.
There is also some scuffing on one of the base support “legs”, acquired when dragging it over asphalt (oops). See provided pic.
Since this is stored outside, I’ve just given the inside a quick brush out to remove spiders and larger material. A good hosing and scrub would probably remove all the rest of the stuff you see in the interior pic.
I do the grand majority of my composting in the chicken run nowadays and don’t need this taking up extra space.
