●A 9 year old, 14.2 hand Morgan john mule.
A seasoned trail partner that will go anywhere you point him. He is very forward moving, confident, and always ready to hit the trail. If you're looking for a mule that doesn't hesitate and enjoys covering country, Grit is your guy.
●Grit has extensive trail experience and has been ridden on numerous overnight camping trips and events including Shawnee, Eminence, the National Championship Chuckwagon Races, Caney Mountain, and many other miles of trail. He has also rode in numerous parades and handles the crowds, commotion, and atmosphere well. He has also been our go to mule for ponying young ones on the trail. Grit is traffic safe, dog safe, and comfortable in busy environments.
●One thing we really appreciate about Grit is that he is far from buddy sour. He enjoys being the leader on the trail and is confident out front, but he's equally willing to ride in the middle of the group or in the rear.
●He stands tied, saddles easily, stands for mounting, loads and travels quietly, and is good for the farrier. He is generally easy to catch as well.
●Grit works primarily off leg pressure, neck reins, and is soft in the mouth. He responds well to light cues and does not require heavy-handed riding.
●Because of his more sensitive personality, Grit is best suited for an experienced mule person. He can be more reactive than some mules and does best with a rider who is confident, patient, and rides with feel. If you are the type of person who gets easily frustrated or lets little things bother you, Grit would not be the best fit. He does best with someone who can stay calm, consistent, and not make a big deal out of the small things. In return, he'll give you everything he's got. If you're new to mules or tend to ride heavy-handed, Grit would not be the best fit.
●Grit has been our teenage son's main riding mule for awhile now. As our son has shifted his focus to other hobbies, Grit simply isn't getting the use he deserves.
