Crush has spent most of his life as a show horse before coming to Longmeadow. He carries himself with the kind of collected, purposeful movement that makes him a comfortable and forward ride. He has a nice, comfortable gait and he’s the kind of horse that enjoys having a job under saddle. In the beginning, when our trainers would remove Crush from his equine buddies to bring him to the arena, he tended to get stressed and act buddy sour. However, after he settled into the Ranch and his routine, he seemed to calm down more each time he was taken into training. Our trainers think Crush would do best with an equine friend the first few times he’s being ridden outside of the arena to ease his stress levels.
On the ground, Crush is a sweetheart. He stands excellent for grooming, vets and the farrier. Crush is currently the low man in the herd, so he’s not one to stir up trouble. He would do well in a herd with other easygoing geldings and mares.
It should be known that since his arrival to Longmeadow, Crush has been diagnosed with Cushings and requires a daily dose of medication to maintain his comfort levels. He eats the medication off his morning grain like a champ. Crush stands approximately 15.1 hands.
Maximum Carrying Weight (tack plus rider): 210 lbs
