The Sears department store sold typewriters over the years with their name on it. This 1960's Sears Tower Citation 88 is one of those examples. The Sears Citation is a clone of Smith Corona portable typewriters. Present are tab functions, color ribbon selector, and touch control - all the features that were common with typewriters from this era. Sears Tower and Smith Corona produced some pretty sturdy portable typewriters.
Mechanically speaking, this typewriter is in great shape. The keys strike the platen like they should and do not stick.
Color ribbon selector, tabulator, and margin bell are working as they should.
Cosmetically, The paint on the typewriter looks great with only a few scuff marks.
The typewriter is clean inside and out. The case looks & works well for protecting and transporting your typewriter.
It is simple to remove the typewriter from the case and easy to reinstall.
