This is Kunzite. It measures about 12.85 x 9.56 mm, or just over 1/2 inch x 1/3 inch. The weight of this gemstone is 8.71 carats. First found in 1902 in California by G.F. Kunz. Found today in California, Maine, Brazil, Afghanistan, Pakistan and others. Called “The Evening Stone,” because it can fade in prolonged exposure to light, such as sunlight. This gem has naturally formed in the earth and has been mined from the earth. Sometimes this natural formation or mining can cause fractures or chips. I have hand set this gemstone into this solid .925 sterling silver pendant that is marked on the back. Also included is a 20 inch .925 sterling chain. The pendant and chain you see in the photos are the pendant and chain you will receive. Gift tag included. inventory #7794.
