The gemstone in this pendant came to us from a group of assorted gems we received from our gemstone dealer. We believe this stone is Rose Quartz. Rose quartz is the name for the pink variety of quartz. It is a favorite gem material. It is found in Brazil, South Africa, India, Madagascar. In the United States a deposit near Custer South Dakota once produced significant amounts of rose quartz. This gem measures 11.38 x 9.12 mm. That's about .45 x .36 inch. It weighs 4.96 carats. We believe this gem has naturally formed in the earth. Sometimes natural formation can leave fractures. I have hand set this gem in this .925 sterling silver pendant that is marked on the back. Also included is a .925 sterling silver 18 inch chain. The pendant and chain you see in the photos are the pendant and chain you will receive. Photos enlarged to show detail.
