Dave Clark, director of the Brazilian ensemble at UMSL's drumset and world percussion camp and the founder of STL-based samba percussion group Confluencia, is accepting students of Brazilian samba percussion for individual or group lessons at his Webster Groves studio.
Phase 1 of instructon focuses on playing techniques
Phase 2 focuses on grooves and simple breaks
Phase 3 focuses on learning parts to extended drum breaks (paradinhas) composed by Mauro Jorge do Nascimento AKA Mestre Maurao of the Academicos do Cubango samba school in Rio de Janeiro

These ebooks contain transcriptions of samba batucada grooves in the styles of 11 different samba schools as well as transcriptions of two complete paradinhas. These represent a small fraction of the content covered in the lessons.

-lesson fees: $45 per hour and $30 for half hour (group discounts are available)
