If you are looking for a new or gently used iPhone, please take heed to this advice. Apple only supports their devices for about four years. This is great from a longevity standpoint, but if you are looking to buy a device that is three or more years old you will likely not get much benefit. Last year the iPhone 6 series and under was blocked from receiving major iOS upgrades. This year, it is expected that the iPhone 6S series will be blocked. This also includes the iPhone SE that was released in 2016. The next major update is iOS 14 and is going to come out in September, provided that COVID-19 does not delay the release this year.

I would advise against anyone spending more than $100 on something that as of June 1st, 2020 will only last another 3-4 months before Apple decides to pull the plug on future updates. I don't care how good of condition the phone is in, you are going to have a glorified paperweight come October.
