1998 Epiphone Gibson Special, the precursor to the Les Paul Special II. Original pickups, okay but nothing special. Replaced the wiring with a generic harness, again, nothing special but works as it should. Tuners are from an Epi SG I had a while back. Bridge and tailpiece are new, again, generic stuff. Plays well, nice action, body's pretty beat up (no charge for the the psychedilic cat sticker scratch covers). Once upon a time I was going to strip it down to the wood, but you know how that goes.
PROJECT #1
Body and neck I picked up from Guitarfetish a while back. Body's good, neck needs some fret work, mostly making sure they're seated right and have to file away the fret sprout. Has some heft to it. Bought some chrome humbuckers with a quick connect harness but never got around to installing it (included in the parts). No tuners.
PROJECT #2
Got this from a friend of a friend whose ex made it in a wood-working class. Very solid and quite heavy. Neither the neck nor the body were finished; I put polycrylic on the neck. Also cured the fret sprout and leveled and re-crowned the frets, but never polished them. I've no idea how it sounds as there is a definite ground problem. Bought a new harness but never installed it (included in the parts). Also bought some gold humbuckers to replace the black bobbins (also included).
THE PARTS
Two gold cover humbuckers, 4 wire, red and white twisted together, with screws and cream rings. These along with a 2-pot wiring harness were meant for Project #2.
Two chrome humbuckers, 5 wire, quick connect, along with a 4-pot quick connect harness with coil tap on the volumes. Meant for Project #1. The covers are scratched a bit owing to me doing a tap test with a screwdriver and failing to protect them.
A 2-pot harness with switch.
A set of black humbucker rings, flat bottoms.
