1969 Gibson Byrdland (serial number 891783: numbers 897000 through 898999 is a 1967 or 1969) in tobacco burst. All original with case. Remember it has a 1 10/16 (5/8) nut. If interested respond with text number for more pics. Original pickups - original Gibson PAF (in those days someone may have pulled a pickup from the bin and it was an early 60's) other original Gibson patent number. Original case has handle replacement. Pickguard has been changed. Oxidation on pickup covers. few of higher frets (pickguard off-gas). Small stress crack to the right of pickguard on top which is stable.
Had Jimmy Gravity of Gravity Strings in St. Louis look at the pickups to verify:
Conclusion: the Brydland is a 1967 and the pickups are a PAF and a PAF patent no. ie vintage. Did not open up the pickup covers..as everything seemed to match up vintage wise. Verified the year using serial number/specs and Gruhn's (TN) dating book.
PS F plugs not included.
Neck pickup PAF: Gibson used the PAF (patent applied for sticker) on guitars from late 1956 until late 1962.
Bridge pickup PAF: with the patent number from 1963 to 1967 when the T-tops came in.
Was thinking of installing linear pots for tone control but when J. Gravity here is St. Louis looked...and tested the pots - all is well, good sweep on both tone controls and all the pots (volume and tone) are original (all encased in metal so no serial nos. can be seen as was standard for this 60's period). Caps are original.
Price reflects these valued pickups...more pics contact me.
Put the tape measure at the edge of the bass side pickup pole screw for the neck to the edge of the pickup cover...2/8"
Put the tape measure at the edge of the bass side pickup pole screw for the bridge pickup to the edge of the pickup cover...2/8" ... should be a neck rhythm PAF pickup.
