1982 Epiphone Sheraton - top tier of the Sheraton model in antique sunburst. Maple body with smooth and lively acoustic tone. Tim Shaw PAF humbucker pickups (cast Alnico V magnets, plastic spacers and poly-coated wire)- a premium pickup option on only a few models made. People are asking $500 for a pair of Tim Shaw pickups!!! Original ink stamps on the baseplates (dated 1980) and untouched solder on the gold covers. These Shaw pickups are articulate but not sharp sounding...they have some snap SO this Sheraton is a nice mix of full 335 jazz with tone down and snappy Telecaster with tone up. Do not forget this Sheraton is built like a Gibson ES 355 (what does a 1982 Gibson ES 355 go for?)...in summation: the pickups sound golden!!!
Three piece maple neck with walnut stringers in a slender C shape - more roundness up the neck. .780" at lst fret and .960" at the 12th fret. Rosewood fret board with pearl block inlays with frets having full factory height. ABR-1 bridge and Frequensator tailpiece.
The Sheraton was made in Japan at the Matsumoku factory (the best of those Japanese plants making guitars for the USA market). 7.5 Condition. 8 lbs 9 oz. Nut: 1.7" (1 11/16"). This Epiphone is like the Gibson ES 335- I have had 2 1966's and a 1967 ES 345 and this Sheraton is better. Comes with leather gig bag - very nice. One button on the two button pouch - for 1/4" cables, etc - is not working. Ding around lower bout where sometimes a input jack goes and also around the volume/tone controls- see pics.
I have text pics of the Shaw pickups showing patent number embossed/stamped on the pickup housing AND another number inked on top. Need info to send. PRICE: $2275.
1976 Yamaha FG-735 12 string. Very good condition. Recently set up by J Gravity. Comes with non-original hard shell case. PRICE: $275
