This is a great guitar! So, what is a Gibson J-29? It's a Gibson jumbo shape guitar, looks like a J-45, but there are some sharp differences.
The J-29 has rosewood back and sides, and has Gibson's "advanced" bracing, which means it's a little thinner and shifted to where they used to do it- the Advanced Jumbo is the most well known of this kind of guitar.
This means that it has a bright sound, tons of sustain, really focused sound that shines in front of any microphone. Great guitar for recording.
It has Gibson's classic 24.75" scale.
Has the case, I put on locking Grover tuners, bone bridge pins, saddle and I even had Music Folk put on a bone nut.
The electronics are removed from the guitar, you should know that. But they don't sound good and they make the guitar sound worse and now it's ready for you to put in a better system if you want- the K&K Mini is great.
Let me know if you have any questions! This is a good price on it, the ones on Reverb are all around $1800 these days. But I got it at a good price and now you do. No trades, I need to pay off some stuff.
I was just asked, and this is a 2013, from December 19 of that year. Oh, and it comes with the original hardshell Gibson case.
