I can give you a strong foundation in technique and basic music theory for the upright or electric bass that can be applied to the music of your choice.
My background includes starting in punk bands to studies with
many of the finest jazz, classical and new music double bassists in the world, playing with many great musicians such as Mike Watt, Cecil Taylor, Richard Thompson, Jim O'Rourke, Henry Kaiser, Marshall Allen (Sun Ra) and working on film soundtracks such as Werner Herzog's "Grizzly Man" and "Encounters at the End of the World".

*This is an ad for students, I am not available for projects, but temporary PAYING work is great and I am available for concerts of my own music.
** I am also NOT a referral service. I will not refer any of my students to
someone I don't know. So please don't ask.
***If you want to ask a non-lesson related question ("where can I get a
bow/bass/etc"), I might return an email I just don't have time to return calls not
pertaining to lessons, sorry.
