Ok, I'll begin by saying right up front this isn't a big federal case.

That said I'm posting to keep others from wasting time and money thinking they are going to be able to service Sears product by ordering parts online. It sounds like a great thing, its probably not going to work out.

You don't have to believe me, just google Sears Parts Direct and read one after the other bad reviews.

The worst thing about this ripoff is I have loved Sears stores for years. Good tools, good appliances, hell I even bought work denim pants there that lasted forever. So now most Sears stores are gone. This parts website trades on the good name Sears has enjoyed for decades and is designed as a ripoff.

I simply needed a handle for a Sears Lawnmower that otherwise is in great shape and has run well for years. I change the oil and spark plug every spring and sharpen the blade a few times a year. So why spend $ on a new mower when the handle broke?

I google Sears Mower Parts and up pops Sears Parts Direct. I enter my model #, up pops the handle, 35.00 plus shipping, bingo I pay 45.00 and we're good to go.

The part arrives in 4 days and its 6 pieces of pipe that anyway you play with them they don't go together to make ANY sort of handle that you could attach to anything much less my lawnmower.

So, contact Sears Parts Direct, print a shipping label, box the pile of pipe together drive it to UPS, done deal. Well not really. Its been 3 weeks, multiple online chats and nothing. Then I check Google reviews and Yelp as well and see endless complaints exactly like what I've gone thru.

Finally today I get an email they are processing my 35.00 refund. Yes I paid 10.00 shipping to have the part they said I needed bases upon their own Model # which is incorrect sent to me.

So again not a federal case but the reviews show endless people who never ever received their refund. Maybe I won't either.

Giant waste of time.

I went to Auto Zone, bought 4 radiator clamps and a tube of J.B. weld, smashed a piece of conduit with a sledge hammer, used it as a flinch-plate, clamped the conduit to the broker handle, slapped the J.B. Weld on it-fixed in 20 minutes for 10.00.

Fuck Sears Parts Direct.
