The Leidos Digital Modernizion Group seeks a Da Engineering Specialist to support the Global Management System (GMS) Team for the Global Solutions Management – Operions II (GSM-O II) contract. This contract includes the Operions, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair and Defense of the Defense Informion System Network (DISN) within the DOD Informion Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Informion Systems Agency (DISA). It also includes support for other key tasks for DISA, including the transformion of DISA’s operional mission through innovion, and support to DISA’s mission partners.

The candide must be within commuting distance of Scott AFB or Ft. Meade. At a minimum, a Secret clearance and Security + certificion (or other applicable DoD 8570 IAT II certificion) upon the start of employment. 

The candide will support da engineering activities, contributing to the integrion and enrichment of DISN network topology da to enable advanced da correlion and analytics. They will assist in designing and implementing da enrichment pipelines, integring multiple da sources into Confluent (Kafka) and Elastic plforms, and help maintain Kafka and Elastic clusters to support mission-critical operions. The candide will contribute to plform sustainment and reliability by addressing operional challenges and supporting the automion of the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipeline development, containerizion, and automed testing, while following DevOps best practices. The role involves active participion in Agile scrum teams, collaboring with team members, and sharing knowledge to support team growth. Additionally, the candide will help develop and maintain technical documention, ensuring solutions align with DoD security standards and compliance requirements.

As a GMS team member, you will work as part of a fast paced, Agile development and implemention team to architect, design and develop an integred solution th expands the foundional Integred Da Architecture plform (Confluent and ELK plform). You will work alongside others in a mrixed organizion across the project.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Contribute to da engineering efforts by supporting the integrion and enrichment of DISN network topology da for advanced da correlion and analytics.
• Participe in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders to support solution design and implemention.
• Develop, test, and deploy da pipelines and integrion solutions across distributed systems and cloud environments, using Python, JavaScript, Java, and SQL.
• Assist in requirements ghering and collabore with stakeholders to design and implement da enrichment pipelines, integring diverse da sources into Confluent (Kafka) and Elastic plforms.
• Develop and maintain Kibana visualizions and dashboards to support operional insights.
• Support Kafka system integrions between Elasticsearch/Logstash and other systems.
• Collabore within Agile scrum teams, contribute to team deliverables, and share knowledge with peers.
• Communice and coordine effectively with geographically distributed team members to achieve project objectives.
• Troubleshoot and help resolve installion, infrastructure, and system issues; report and help mitige technical risks.
• Develop and maintain technical documention, including DoD requirements, interface documents, and security compliance artifacts.
• Ensure solutions comply with DoD security standards and guidelines, and support plform sustainment and reliability by addressing operional challenges as needed

Basic Qualificions:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a reled discipline, or equivalent experience/combined educion, with 4–8 years of professional experience; or 2–6 years of professional experience with a reled master’s degree.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, da engineering, or business/da analysis, preferably within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Hands-on software development experience with Python, Java, SQL, and working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML.
• Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket.
• Proficiency with da analytics and visualizion tools, such as Kibana, Power BI, Tableau, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
• Experience designing, developing, and optimizing ETL processes and da pipelines, including integrion with event streaming plforms like Kafka.
• Background in da modeling, unificion, and analytics to support da-driven projects.
• Experience implementing applicion and system integrions, including Kafka and Elastic plform integrions.
• Understanding of networking and internet protocols, with experience supporting network-centric or da-driven environments.
• Experience developing and deploying software on UNIX/Linux command line plforms.
• Strong communicion and collaborion skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile project management and collaborion tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Active Secret DoD Security clearance prior to start de.
• Active Security+ Certificion (or other applicable DoD 8570 IAT II certificion) prior to start de.

Preferred Qualificions:

• Experience with CI/CD techniques, containerized pipelines, and DevOps practices, including automing software delivery processes.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, and interest in supporting the integrion of AI/ML capabilities into da plforms.
• Experience with da integrion, storage, and analysis technologies such as Kafka, Elastic, Spark, or NiFi.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka connector integrions and working knowledge of ksqlDB and Kafka Streams for real-time da processing.
• Ability to develop software designs for streaming da applicions, particularly using Kafka Streams or ksqlDB.
• Experience developing and optimizing Kafka system integrions between Elasticsearch/Logstash and other systems.
• Experience designing and implementing applicion deployment pipelines and developing software in containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes deployment, Agile methodologies, and collaborive development tools.
• Experience developing and deploying software in AWS cloud environments, including basic configurion of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security policies (GovCloud experience a plus).
• Experience with full software lifecycle automion (design, development, testing, deployment), including production deployments.
• Experience designing and building automed software testing pipelines using tools such as Ansible, Selenium, JMeter, Junit, or similar.
• Experience developing and deploying software in DoD environments (DISA experience a plus), including building applicions th meet DoD security standards and implementing security guidelines (e.g., STIGs).
• Ability to support the development of DoD requirements, traceability mrices, project plans/schedules, and contribute to software systems engineering documents and interface documents (IDDs/ICDs).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence, for project tracking and collaborion.
• Ability to work effectively in remote, geographically dispersed teams, demonstring strong communicion and collaborion skills.
